In memory of our beautiful son and daughter - Elliot and Neave - who were born prematurely on 4 Oct 2006 at Costa del Sol Hospital in Marbella, whilst we were all on holiday. Neave was born first at 1907hrs weighing 700gms, and Elliot 13mins later at 1920hrs weighing 600gms. Aiden was now a big brother.
They both survived the first 24 hours, but Elliot lost his fight on 5 Oct at 2000hrs. His sister survived a further 24 hours but died at 2200hrs on 6 Oct.
The poem below was read by Tracie at the funeral
I felt your presence their inside me
nestled soft and warm,
sweet scent of 2 babies breath
precious words left unadorned.
We say your tiny heartbeats
then we knew that you were fine
the perfect babies we had created
both that would be ours.
Then the tragic day it came
there was nothing we could do
Only wait and hope
for the precious life in you.
Yes in the beginning
your daddy was afraid
Only he would love you unconditional
and never run away.
He loved you both more this i do know
as he cried for you those days
whent he doctos said that you were gone
Daddy wanted you to stay
He held you each close to him
and saw your perfect form
a gift of daddys love
which kept you safe and warm.
only now you are both angels over us
beautiful and bare
my heart would hurt if you cried for me
and mummy wasnt there
rest gentle now sweet babies
there is no pain
your are never alone
I know your both with angels in your peaceful home
We will come with you someday
only now is not the time
Then we will all be together again
Again you will be mine.
